Community Impact Fund

For the Border region – today, tomorrow, forever

Supporting our community today is vital, but planning for tomorrow is equally important. The Border Trust Community Impact Fund is a dedicated endowment that allows us to support the Border region’s needs both today and for the future. By growing this fund to $20 million, we can provide the resources needed for urgent support, sustained programs, and long-term resilience.

Community Grants

Are you ready to give where you live?
By donating to Border Trust, you join a network of generous and engaged donors who are creating positive impact.

Since 2005, Border Trust granting programs have distributed more than $5 million to support local organisations to do vital work across the region.

Make your donation to our community grant pool and we will direct your donation to the areas of greatest need in the community.

Give500

Our Give500 Campaign harnesses the power of collective giving to fund projects that directly benefit communities across the Border region.

Local community members, families, groups and businesses are invited to become a Give500 donor by donating $500 to the Give500 program. Donated funds are pooled, with the size and value of the annual Give500 grant pool determined by the number of donations made.

Collective Giving Funds

Hume Bank Safer Communities Fund

In July 2024, Hume Bank announced the launch of its dedicated Safer Communities Fund with an initial contribution of $50,000 in support of creating a safer community and helping to end domestic and family violence.

The fund will contribute financial support directly to frontline family and domestic violence services across the region.

Rural Australian Health Matters (RAHMs)

A community-driven initiative to improve health outcomes in North East Victoria and the Riverina Border Region. Regional Australians deserve healthcare that is accessible, equitable, and of a quality consistent with that of their metropolitan counterparts. Rural communities face unique challenges – geographic isolation, resource shortages, and systemic inequities. These issues demand local solutions, designed and led by the communities they affect.

RAHMs was created to meet this need. By establishing a perpetual Community Philanthropic Fund under Border Trust, RAHMs will pool resources to address health inequities in NE Victoria and the Riverina Border Region. The fund will drive projects that save lives, improve well-being, and build healthier futures for regional Australians.

Bequests

A charitable bequest could be the most important gift you ever make.

When everyday people leave a gift in their Will—whether large or small—it creates a ripple effect that benefits local communities for generations. After taking care of your loved ones, even 1% of your estate left to Border Trust can make a meaningful difference in the community you cherish.

A bequest allows your values and commitment to creating positive change in your local community to live on, supporting local projects that address urgent needs and create lasting impact.

Leave a legacy that benefits your community for future generations.

Named Sub Funds

A Named Sub-Fund

is a great way to involve family members or whole organisations in a meaningful and fulfilling giving experience. Donations can be made to Named Sub-Funds at any time by the original donor, or by family members, friends or others. All donations are fully tax deductible, and we manage all governance for you.

A Named Sub-Fund allows you to recommend the preferred charities or causes in the Albury Wodonga Region that you wish to support.  Creating a Named Sub-Fund gives you the chance to provide community assistance at grassroots and personal level.

Establishing a Named Sub-Fund in perpetuity with Border Trust is simple. Starting from $2,000 your fund can grant to local community organisations once it builds to $20,000.  We’ll work with you along the way.

Fundraise

Holding a fundraiser for Border Trust not only raises essential funds but also builds awareness and strengthens community support.

Whether it’s a gold coin donation around the office, a sausage sizzle or bake sale, another creative idea, we’ll provide the resources and materials to make it a success.
