City2City Run Walk

The City2City Run Walk committee is proudly a sub-committee of Border Trust.

The annual Hume Bank City2City Run Walk, between the beautiful twin cities of Albury and Wodonga, has become a celebrated event by locals and visitors to the region, with all proceeds raised staying local to support the local community.

Each year, funds raised go to support an initiative of Albury Wodonga Health (AWH), the only cross-border health service in Australia and one of only six regional and rural health services in Victoria with its referral area and local population upwards of 260,000.

AWH operates from 17 sites in North East Victoria and Southern New South Wales with the major delivery points being on the Albury and Wodonga campuses of AWH and the Acute Mental Health Service on the Northeast Health Campus at Wangaratta.

Since its inception funds from the Hume Bank City2City Run Walk have benefited the following programs.

2023

What an amazing achievement! $130,000 raised to provide the Wodonga Hospital Emergency Department – Victorian Stroke Telemedicine Program.

2022

The community came out in force to celebrate a return to life (almost) as normal, with $74,000 raised for Community Care Projects.

2021

It may have been virtual, but this year’s Hume Bank City2City RunWalk didn’t miss a step! A $16,000 grant to Albury Wodonga Health was announced at the Big Give to support our frontline health workers : staff tea room facilities

2020

The majority of proceeds raised by the Hume Bank City2City in 2020 went to Nolan House, which supports adults in their recovery from mental health challenges. The funds raised assisted in the re-design of the Courtyard at Nolan House, to include a therapeutic garden for use by patients of Nolan House, their families and visitors and staff.

In addition to this, with our community being directly and significantly impacted by 2019 / 2020 bushfires, twenty per cent of entry fees will be donated to the Border Trust Bushfire Relief Fund, established to support bushfire recovery efforts in the region, with 100% of the funds staying local.

2019

All proceeds raised by the 2019 Hume Bank City2City Run Walk funded life-saving ultra-sound equipment for critical care services, including Emergency, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. The upgraded equipment allows for faster diagnosis and treatment of Albury Wodonga Health’s most critically ill patients.

2018

All $107,000 raised for Albury Wodonga Health in 2018 was used to fund life-saving chronic lung disease equipment. One hundred per cent of the event’s registration fees went to support the purchase of an Endo Bronchial Ultra Sound Scope (E-BUS).

2017

The $110,000 raised in 2017 for Albury Wodonga Health was directed to Albury Wodonga Maternity Unit and Special Care Nursery. This helped pay for the refurbishment of the nursery and patient rooms, improving facilities and amenities for both babies and parents.

2016

All $110,000 raised from the 2016 Hume Bank City2City RunWalk funded nine preventative mental health programs for AWH.

2015

The $100,000 raised via the City2City Run Walk in 2015 went toward cardiac services at AWH. The money helped to fund further mobile cardiac monitoring of patients.
