Hume Bank Announce $50,000 Commitment to Safer Communities Fund

“At Hume Bank we believe in making progress for all in our community, and to do this we will take a stand on big issues that our community cares about. One of these is family and domestic violence.  We understand that we all need to work together to promote and foster safe, equal and respectful relationships and that we all must continue to do more”, Hume Bank CEO, Stephen Capello.

In support of this important issue, today Hume Bank announced a new initiative in partnership with Border Trust, committing $50,000 to the newly established Hume Bank Safer Communities Fund.

The Hume Bank Safer Communities Fund is designed to provide vital financial support to local not-for-profit organisations and initiatives that improve safety and well-being in our region.”

“This Fund will contribute funds directly to frontline family and domestic violence services in our community”, CEO Stephen Cappello stated.

Our ultimate goal is to create a safer community, and we know by standing together on this important issue we are taking a step in the right direction”, Mr Cappello noted.

Border Trust will deliver the grant program, ensuring funds are allocated to programs that meet the established grant criteria across Albury, Wodonga, Federation, Greater Hume, Indigo, Towong, Wagga and Wangaratta Local Government Areas.

The first grant round will open 5 August 2024, with applications closing 15 September 2024.
The successful programs will be announced at Hume Bank’s AGM on 20 November, 2024.
