Hume Bank Safer Communities Grant

Hume Bank launches the Safer Communities Fund

In support of creating a safer community and helping to end domestic and family violence, Hume Bank has launched its dedicated Safer Communities Fund. The fund will contribute financial support directly to frontline family and domestic violence services across the region.

“We are making an initial contribution of $50,000 and will continue to add to this total over the coming years. Funds will be distributed via our partnership with Border Trust, with grants going directly to organisations in the region that deliver these vital services.”
Stephen Capello, Hume Bank CEO.

Hume Bank Safer Communities Grant Program

Purpose
The Hume Bank Safer Communities Fund has been established to support local charitable programs and projects that increase community safety. The initial focus for the inaugural safer communities grant round will be community-led solutions that address domestic violence.

Aims of the 2024 Hume Bank Safer Communities Grant Program

The Safer Communities Grant Program will consider applications from community-based, not-for-profit organisations for projects which address the following impact areas:

  • Community Connection + Wellbeing
  • Community Equity.

Projects may support initiatives that:

  • Assist people experiencing domestic violence
  • Assist people to meet their safety needs
  • Support domestic violence survivors
  • Provide community education and prevention strategies.

For this round, grants between $5,000 – $10,000 will be awarded.  To be considered for a grant up to $15,000, please contact Border Trust to discuss your project and eligibility before applying.

Border Trust will deliver the grant program, ensuring funds are allocated to programs that meet the established grant criteria across Albury, Wodonga, Federation, Greater Hume, Indigo, Towong, Wagga and Wangaratta Local Government Areas.

The Hume Bank and Border Trust collaboration will involve extensive community consultation to identify the most pressing needs and ensure the effective distribution of resources.
