Border Trust has announced successful recipients for Round 1 of the Bushfire Relief Fund, with grants totalling $116,174 awarded to 13 community organisations.
In announcing the grants, Border Trust’s Chair, Grace Churches, reiterated the value and power of local, collective giving.
“There are 13 community driven projects here that are focused on long-term recovery, she said. “We thank all donors for the trust they have placed in Border Trust to distribute these funds and hope that they all feel proud of what their collective efforts have achieved. Similarly, we are inspired by the leadership shown by these recipients and many others within affected communities on their road to recovery”.

Jingellic Hub $13,000 Conversations from the Couch & Flamin’ Hell Sculpture
Man from Snowy River Tourist Association $9,900 Reflecting & Healing Space
Ournie Rural Fire Brigade $9,900 Ournie Tennis Court Lights
Petaurus Education Group $10,000 Keeping Corryong Resilient
Thowgla Recreation Reserve $10,000 Hall renovation
Tintaldra Hall Committee $10,700 Tintaldra Avenue of Honour
Tumbarumba Community Church $10,000 Recovering Together
Youth Albury Wodonga $8,690 Back on YAW Feet
$212,000 was raised through the Bushfire Relief Fund with Round 2 of the grant program to be announced in due course.
